I got inspired to take sewing lessons when I was in Australia, which for a number of reasons involving scheduling problems and laziness never happened.
Finally, as I spent this summer at my parents house and really needed to get a hobby (aka life) I finally bought a sewing machine and decided to teach myself. Of course this means more trials and tribulations than if I had taken classes, but it's more me anyway. As I researched sewing projects, I couldn't help but discover many more DIY sites which really started to peak my interest. So, I've really taken that on as well.
But I think it could not have come at a better time. I finished school, I'm looking for a job and trying to transition back into the real world as an actual adult (not the early 20s version of adulthood I enjoyed for a while). And that's what's this blog is meant to be. The story of me trying to become a sewer and DIY-er and to hopefully to transition into these new hobbies as I transition into my new life. Hopefully, the excitement and frusteration and life lessons that come with the transition in my life on a broader level and as a new sewing/DIY enthusiast will develop into a story worth reading. And if not, at least I'll hopefully have some clothes and things to furnish my apt with (whenever it is I finally get out of my parents house).
